If you have a little bit of a craving for some Asian flavours and need a quick fix here in Moscow, then I have found a great solution. Viet Cafe is a chain of Vietnamese restaurants that currently has 12 locations across Moscow and they offer a great range of classic Vietnamese dishes all at a very reasonable price.
I have personally been to Vietnam a few times and found the food to be authentic in flavour. While I wouldn’t say it is the best Vietnamese food I have eaten, it definitely does the job and for Moscow is a very admirable effort.
The restaurants are all quite conveniently located and feature nice modern dining rooms with friendly service. One great feature of the menu is a regular lunch and dinner set, which is always good value offering a starter, main and drink for an all inclusive price. You can expect that a meal for two with drinks will cost no more than 1500RUB, which as far as restaurants in Moscow go is a pretty cheap feed!
If you find you enjoy the food, then consider downloading the phone application for Viet Cafe. The app works just like a rewards card, letting you earn points every time you dine, which you can put towards future meals. The app is in Russian, but is so simple that just about anyone can figure it out (and if you can’t, ask the waitstaff).
