In a big city like Moscow it can be hard to connect with like minded people and build a friendship network, especially if you have just arrived in the city. Whether you have come to Moscow for work or an accompanying spouse, the International Women’s Club (IWC) may be your avenue to engaging with the international community of Moscow.
The IWC is nonprofit organisation aimed at women of all ages. They support a number of charitable causes and also build up a sense of community by running interest groups for members. There is a very small 3000RUB membership fee, which allows you to attend a range of meetings and events for free. Two of the most memorable events are the Embassies of the World Dinner and Ball and the Winter Bazaar.
The great thing about the club is that you can be involved as little or as much as you like. There are activities running almost every week for the more involved, as well as a few larger events that happen just a few times a year. The membership is truly international and you will always find someone who you can relate to, no matter your age or profession.
