Last month, I had the pleasure of going for dinner at the newly opened Nice People Restaurant. Just calling this place a restaurant sells it way short though. A lot of effort has been put into stocking a massive menu of craft beers.
I was part of a large group and we did reserve a table in advance. We arrived straight after work (so pretty early) and it was quiet. However, by 7-7:30pm, the place was really heaving and close to full. Especially if you plan to go on a Friday or Saturday night, I would reserve a table!
The name of the restaurant pretty nicely sums up the service quality. The serving staff were very nice and helpful, even though ordering in English was a little challenging. There was no English menu, so crack out your translator app, or just try your luck!
The beers that are featured on the menu come from boutique Russian producers, as well as foreign craft brewers. It is actually hard to choose and I will definitely be back to try some of the other beers on offer. Our group did find that some of the beers were not well stocked. Just with our large group, we finished off a couple of the varieties of bottled beers.
Although beer is important, the main event was the food. The menu of Nice People Restaurant is a meat eaters dream. There is a wide variety of meat dishes and steaks to choose from, all of which were reasonably priced. It was also great to see the chef working away in the open kitchen. I personally had the ‘steak of the day’ which was a large pork chop rather than a steak. It came with a nice side of grilled vegetables and was well worth the 800RUB price tag.
Nice People Restaurant and craft beer pub comes highly recommended from me. I will certainly go back again next time I am in the area.
Finding Nice People Pub
Nice People Restaurant is right in the centre of Moscow, on Tsvetnoy Boulevard. There is only a small sign on the main road that direct you into the restaurant, so keep your eyes peeled!
