You may not immediately associate Moscow with hiking, but 40% of the city area is covered in parks and forests, meaning there are actually some great hikes available in and around the city. For someone new to Moscow, or who does not speak Russian, actually finding out where the best routes are can be a challenge.
Luckily, the ‘Hikers,Walkers & Nature Lovers’ club has got you covered. This informal club of like-minded individuals meets every Sunday for a hike – rain, hail or shine. They don’t rate the difficulty of their hikes, but aim to keep them between 15-25km and set a slow to moderate pace.
If you want to join a hike, jut head over to the groups website, where you will find the contact details for the current weeks hike leader. Enjoy!
