One thing that can be lacking in Russia food is a bit of spice. I have been in Moscow for nearly a year now and this is the first (and only) Thai restaurant I have managed to find. Its in a very prominent location, the food is good but if you area big Thai food fan you may notice that many of the dishes are customised for the Moscow taste buds. However, the staff often ask if you want it ‘medium’ or ‘more’ spicy so don’t be afraid to talk to them and follow their advice to get the level of spice you are looking for.
It’s well priced for tourists and locals alike and the menu is extensive with most of dishes you would expect in any Thai restaurant. I had a green curry with fragrant rice – it was full of flavour and the portion size was perfect.
We arranged to have a meal here before going to The Pioneer Cinema which is just around the corner and the combination of this meal and watching a movie in English made for a great night out. I highly recommend a visit to Bann Thai.
The closest metro station to the restaurant is Kiyevskaya (Киевская), which is a major junction between the circle, light blue and dark blue lines.
